I've walked in and out of many minds
but my silhouette just won't stick
It hides in the spaces where nothing else fits
Dark and slippery
I danced through lobes
and down your spine
It felt fine
Oh, you didn't mind
I've sat on your shoulder
and whispered in your ear
Don't pretend you didn't hear
But maybe you forgot
I slithered round your limbs
just a shadow of skin
Tickling nerves
Leaving my scent
I've filled holes, whole caverns
but you claim to be hungry
Empty in the pit
I just won't stick

I know you know
I know you know what I'm feeling
by the shift in your eyes
when I'm caving in
below my throat and between my ribs
No one tells you that walking away
takes a certain amount of blood
that it will leak out in the details
in the division of monotony- his spoon, my knife
I know you know what I'm feeling
when I catch your sigh linking mine
as we breathe chaos and freedom
but there's still hope in this cage
No one says that becoming yourself
will almost kill you
it will ring you out
to one concentrated drop
But I know you know what I'm feeling
as your eyes close
and your temples crease
I'll kiss you there- where new life aches
by the shift in your eyes
when I'm caving in
below my throat and between my ribs
No one tells you that walking away
takes a certain amount of blood
that it will leak out in the details
in the division of monotony- his spoon, my knife
I know you know what I'm feeling
when I catch your sigh linking mine
as we breathe chaos and freedom
but there's still hope in this cage
No one says that becoming yourself

it will ring you out
to one concentrated drop
But I know you know what I'm feeling

I'll kiss you there- where new life aches

Skin secrets
Don't waste any moment that could be spent
in arms and lips touching
in fingers finding ribs and hips
in listening to the low sounds
in mixing, minding, learning, finding
all those places we let be bare-
in the secrets of our skin and souls

Someday
Someday I want a porch swing
It can have a squeaky hinge
It can lean to the right
It can creak in the wind
I don't care if it's hanging from
a cabin or a shack
But, baby, it better be home
Before my voice is squeaky
And my bones creak
Before I forget what it is to lean
into someone and sway in the wind
Someday I want a porch swing
and I'll call where it hangs
home
It can have a squeaky hinge
It can lean to the right
It can creak in the wind
I don't care if it's hanging from
a cabin or a shack
But, baby, it better be home
Before my voice is squeaky
And my bones creak
Before I forget what it is to lean
into someone and sway in the wind
Someday I want a porch swing
and I'll call where it hangs
home

Anymore.
I've seen a back like yours before
walking away
Those shoulders don't seem so broad from
this distance
I thought your arms were stronger
than that
Your gait seems a bit askew
but maybe
Maybe it's because I just don't
like you
Anymore.

That woman won't wait
You know she's a shape-shifter
a gypsy, a drifter
She can lie beside a lion
and look like the meanest lamb
She can wade through the swiftest river
and not lose a breath
She's green in a meadow
and violent at high tide
She'll surround you like a gust of wind
and warm you like a summer sun
But she won't wait
